Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of mission-critical enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, availability, security, and reliability while supporting application development, system enhancements, and production operations.
- Working Hours: Mon-Fri
- Working Location: Central
- Salary Package: Up to $7,500 (basic) + AWS + VB (2-3months)
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise database environments to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
- Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement tuning and optimisation strategies.
- Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
- Support application deployments, database releases, and environment migrations.
- Develop and maintain database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and scripts.
- Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support system enhancements and resolve database-related issues.
- Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance with organisational policies and industry best practices.
- Support data migration, database refresh activities, and production incident resolution.
- Prepare and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience in database performance tuning, query optimisation, backup and recovery, and database security.
- Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.
- Experience supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, and production database environments.
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows server administration.
- Experience with cloud database services (AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms) is an advantage.
- Experience with database migration, automation, and CI/CD practices is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
