Job title: Database Specialist (Oracle DBA)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of mission-critical enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, availability, security, and reliability while supporting application development, system enhancements, and production operations.

  • Working Hours: Mon-Fri
  • Working Location: Central
  • Salary Package: Up to $7,500 (basic) + AWS + VB (2-3months)

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise database environments to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement tuning and optimisation strategies.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Support application deployments, database releases, and environment migrations.
  • Develop and maintain database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and scripts.
  • Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support system enhancements and resolve database-related issues.
  • Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance with organisational policies and industry best practices.
  • Support data migration, database refresh activities, and production incident resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Experience in database performance tuning, query optimisation, backup and recovery, and database security.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.
  • Experience supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, and production database environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows server administration.
  • Experience with cloud database services (AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms) is an advantage.
  • Experience with database migration, automation, and CI/CD practices is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
