Working Hours: Monday – Thursday (8.30am – 6pm), Friday (8.30am – 5.30pm)

Working Location: Jurong/Thomson

Salary Package: SGD 4500 + AWS

Employment Type: Contract

We are seeking a hands-on and operationally driven Data Centre Engineer (Operations) to support the day-to-day operations of critical data centre infrastructure and IT systems. The role is responsible for ensuring high availability, reliability, security, and operational excellence across facility and IT environments.The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of infrastructure systems, IT operations, and physical security controls, with the ability to work in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities: 

Data Centre Operations Support

  • Provide 24x7 operational support for data centre environments
  • Ensure continuous availability of mission-critical systems
  • Perform routine inspections and operational checks
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and system alerts promptly
  • Escalate issues according to incident management procedures

Infrastructure Management

  • Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems, including:
    • Power systems (UPS, PDUs, generators)
    • Cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH units)
    • Fire suppression and detection systems
  • Conduct regular environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, water leakage detection)
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution and preventive maintenance
  • Support facility maintenance activities and equipment installations
  • Maintain proper cable management and structured cabling standards
  • Ensure facility cleanliness, compliance, and operational readiness

Physical Security Management

  • Monitor and manage access control systems and CCTV operations
  • Handle visitor management, access provisioning, and escort duties
  • Maintain security logs, access records, and audit trails
  • Ensure compliance with physical security policies and regulatory standards
  • Report and escalate security incidents or anomalies

IT Operations Support

  • Monitor IT systems health, performance, and availability
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for servers, network devices, and storage systems
  • Support backup operations and disaster recovery procedures
  • Process service requests and support incident management workflows
  • Assist in change management implementation and maintenance activities
  • Monitor security alerts and conduct basic security checks
  • Support user access management and account provisioning

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain facility layout diagrams and infrastructure documentation
  • Update operational runbooks and SOPs
  • Track IT and infrastructure assets
  • Log activities, incidents, and service requests
  • Generate periodic operational and compliance reports
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and audit records

 

Requirements: 

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in IT operations, data centre operations, or infrastructure support
