Job title: Operations Support Engineer (Government Sector)

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Operations Support Engineer to join our Customer’s product team, helping design and develop software applications that serve the people of Singapore. Working closely with the development team, you will ensure high availability, operational excellence, and provide L1–L3 support, including code-level fixes, across production and non-production environments.

  • Job Type: Contract
  • Salary Package: Up to $7,000 (basic) + AWS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze production and non-production environments using full-stack observability tools to maintain optimal performance, uptime, and user experience.

  • Own incident management, including detection, triage, resolution, root-cause analysis, cross-team/vendor coordination, and post-incident reporting.

  • Build and maintain comprehensive operations documentation, runbooks, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and audit compliance.

  • Automate repetitive tasks and infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and scripting, minimizing downtime and human errors.

  • Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and logging using cloud-native and open-source tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry).

  • Manage day-to-day operations, generate performance/statistics reports, and present insights to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Lead and coordinate the operations support team (internal staff and vendors) to provide reliable 24/7 support coverage.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Operations Engineer or in a similar IT role.

  • Hands-on experience with incident and change management using ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, PagerDuty).

  • Experience implementing security and access controls to manage privileged access to production and test environments.

  • Experience with full-stack monitoring, including cloud-native options (e.g., CloudWatch, Stackdriver) and OpenAPM stack preferred.

  • Ability to identify and implement process automation to minimize downtime and errors (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps pipelines, test-driven development, and information security practices.

  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, GCC, GPC) preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, able to explain complex issues to non-technical stakeholders.
