Job Description

Working Hours: Monday - Friday (10am – 7pm) [Hybrid Working Arrangement]

Working Location: Central

Salary Package: Up to $7,500 (with VB and AWS)

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our PostgreSQL database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
  • Administer and support production databases with 24/7 monitoring.
  • Collaborate with AWS teams to ensure databases are patched and updated.
  • Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues to maintain stability.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues through query optimization.
  • Conduct performance analysis and recommend improvements.
  • Implement indexing, partitioning, and other performance techniques.
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies; perform recovery testing.
  • Manage user access, roles, and data encryption to ensure security.
  • Conduct regular audits and apply security patches promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection standards.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on scalable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain schemas, tables, indexes, views, and functions.
  • Provide database support for new projects.
  • Write scripts to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Deploy monitoring tools for proactive database management.
  • Maintain clear documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a PostgreSQL DBA 
  • Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including management on AWS RDS.
  • Experience with tools for backup, replication, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database optimization best practices.
