Job Description

Working Hours: Monday – Thursday (8.30am – 6pm), Friday (8.30am – 5.30pm) (Hybrid working arrangement)

Working Location: Central

Salary Package: Up to $6,000 + AWS

Employment Type: Full Time Contract (1 year renewable with chances of conversion)

The Frontend Engineer will support an enterprise design platform portal used across multiple digital services and products. You will design, develop and maintain intuitive, accessible, high-performance and scalable web applications and reusable UI components. This role requires strong hands-on frontend engineering capabilities and experience delivering production-grade applications within Agile and DevOps environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project and product teams to refine user stories and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain responsive, accessible and reusable web components.
  • Translate UI/UX designs into intuitive, responsive and accessible user interfaces.
  • Establish frontend engineering best practices covering component reusability, maintainability, performance optimisation and accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and relevant digital service standards.
  • Implement frontend security practices to protect applications against XSS, CSRF and other web vulnerabilities.
  • Integrate code analysis and application security testing tools, such as SonarQube and Fortify on Demand, into the development workflow.
  • Support web vulnerability scans, penetration testing and cloud infrastructure security assessments.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure application quality, reliability and performance.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and frontend build, deployment and release processes.
  • Develop, deploy and support web applications hosted on cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Use Storybook to develop, test and document reusable UI components.
  • Document technical decisions, architectural patterns, component standards and frontend best practices.
  • Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, DevOps engineers and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of frontend development or engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with Vue.js or the Vue framework.
  • Experience with other frontend frameworks, such as React or Angular, would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of modern frontend architecture, reusable component design and responsive web development.
  • Experience translating UI/UX designs into accessible user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX best practices and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals covering code quality, testing, maintainability, security and performance.
  • Ability to produce clean, maintainable and efficient code.
  • Experience implementing or managing CI/CD pipelines and frontend build and deployment processes.
  • Experience developing, deploying or supporting web applications on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Experience using Storybook for UI component development and documentation.
