Cloud Automation Engineer (Terraform & Python)

Working Hours: Mon–Fri
Job Type: 1-year contract (renewable)
Location: Hybrid / On-site
Salary Package: Up to $9000 (basic) + AWS

We are looking for a Cloud Automation Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms that support enterprise engineering teams. You will play a key role in developing core platform services, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and enabling Zero Trust access for endpoint devices and applications.

This is a high-impact role with opportunities to shape platform architecture, influence DevOps best practices, and work on modern cloud and security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain core cloud platform services used by multiple product and engineering teams
  • Build and operate secure, scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation
  • Implement and manage Terraform-based deployments following GitOps and DevOps best practices
  • Develop automation tools and platform services using Python and scripting languages
  • Collaborate with product teams to embed reliability, security, and sustainability into delivery pipelines
  • Support onboarding of endpoint devices and applications into a Zero Trust access model
  • Guide teams on integrating their systems with shared platform and security services
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering
  • Secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using industry best practices and open-source tools
  • Provide L3 support for platform and endpoint operations, mentoring junior engineers and operations teams
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in cloud, Zero Trust, SASE, and platform engineering

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience designing and managing large-scale cloud infrastructure and platforms
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC and infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, tooling, and backend services
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira)
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security concepts and identity-based access controls
  • Experience with endpoint or device management solutions (e.g. MDM platforms)
  • Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, VPNs, proxies, tunnelling)
  • Familiarity with securing infrastructure, pipelines, and cloud workloads

 

Nice to Have / Bonus Skills

  • GitOps practices and platform automation frameworks
  • Experience with SRE practices (observability, reliability, incident response)
  • Exposure to security and access tools such as Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, CyberArk, or Tanium
  • Experience with Node.js or additional scripting languages
  • Understanding of both frontend and backend system integration
