Cybersecurity Triage Specialist

  • Remuneration package: Up to $4,500+ AWS

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Triage Specialist to support vulnerability assessment, triage, remediation tracking, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with a good understanding of cybersecurity and vulnerability management processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, assess, and triage vulnerability reports, prioritizing findings based on severity, risk, and potential business impact.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to investigate vulnerabilities and track remediation progress through to closure.
  • Manage enquiries, clarifications, and remediation-related discussions with stakeholders, escalating complex or disputed cases where required.
  • Track outstanding remediation actions, follow up on overdue items, and maintain accurate status updates in JIRA.
  • Coordinate with security researchers and triage teams to conduct vulnerability retesting and independently perform validation where required.
  • Request and review source code for vulnerabilities involving insecure coding practices and coordinate further assessment with relevant technical teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready documentation of vulnerability reports, assessments, remediation activities, and retesting outcomes.
  • Analyse vulnerability trends and recurring findings to identify areas for improvement in security processes, rules of engagement, and programme policies.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly vulnerability statistics and management reports.
  • Support the integration and administration of JIRA with external systems and platforms.

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management, security triage, SOC, penetration testing, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of common cybersecurity vulnerabilities, risk assessment, and remediation processes.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management or issue-tracking platforms such as JIRA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and prioritize security findings.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple vulnerability cases concurrently.
