Remuneration: Up to $10,000 + AWS

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer (DevOps) to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for building and operating modern cloud-native applications. This role combines software engineering and DevOps practices, with a strong focus on automation, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and platform reliability.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve development workflows, enhance system performance, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable software delivery.
Automate deployment, infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes.
Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and platform teams to streamline development, testing, and release workflows.
Monitor application and infrastructure performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain system reliability and availability.
Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services using modern engineering and DevOps practices.
Support incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure infrastructure and application environments adhere to security, compliance, and operational best practices.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of backend services and cloud-native applications where required.
Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Key Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related technical role.
Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or equivalent cloud technologies.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools and practices.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar.
Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent.
Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and TLS.
Experience developing or supporting backend services using Node.js.
Exposure to frontend development using React.js; experience with React Native is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile environment.
Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new technologies and ways of working.
