Data Product Manager

About the Role

Our client from a government agency is looking for a Data Product Manager to manage and enhance a portfolio of data products on their analytics platform.

The role focuses on understanding user needs, defining product requirements, prioritising enhancements, and working with an outsourced development team to deliver data products that provide meaningful insights to business users.

This is a product-focused role that combines stakeholder management, product strategy, requirements gathering, and delivery oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage assigned data products from planning through delivery and continuous improvement.
• Gather requirements from users and stakeholders to understand business needs.
• Define and prioritise product features, enhancements, and roadmap initiatives.
• Work closely with external vendors to ensure successful delivery of product enhancements.
• Collaborate with data owners and business stakeholders to ensure data quality and governance requirements are met.
• Track product performance, user adoption, and feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
• Communicate product updates, priorities, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Management or a related role.
• Experience managing digital, analytics, or data-related products.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering and stakeholder management.
• Experience working with external vendors or development teams.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance business needs, user requirements, and delivery priorities.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of SQL, data visualisation tools, or analytics platforms.
• Understanding of data governance, data modelling, or cloud technologies.
• Experience working with large datasets or business intelligence solutions.
