Working hours: 8.30am-6pm (Mon-Thurs), 8.30am-5.30pm (Fri)
Working location: Central
Job Type: 2 Year Contract (Renewable with chances of conversion)
Salary: $9,500 + AWS 

We are seeking a Data Policy and Compliance Executive to support the development, implementation, and enforcement of data governance and data protection practices within the organisation. The role will be responsible for driving data policy formulation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with stakeholders to strengthen data management capabilities across business units.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and support the formulation of data governance policies, standards, frameworks, processes, and guidelines in alignment with organisational and regulatory requirements
  • Drive implementation of data governance initiatives including data classification, data lifecycle management, data sharing, privacy and consent management, and third-party governance
  • Conduct regular compliance checks, audits, and data risk assessments to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and identify gaps in data management and protection practices, recommending remediation actions
  • Plan and conduct data stocktake and classification reviews to ensure proper inventory and categorisation of data assets
  • Monitor and track compliance issues, engage stakeholders to close identified gaps, and prepare reports for management and governance committees
  • Advise stakeholders on data protection laws, policies, and governance requirements, translating technical and regulatory concepts into actionable guidance
  • Develop and deliver training materials and awareness programmes to enhance organisational understanding of data governance, data protection, and compliance best practices
  • Act as the main liaison for data policy and compliance-related queries and submissions with internal stakeholders and external agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Management, Law, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in data governance, data protection, compliance, risk management, or related areas
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts such as data classification, data lifecycle management, and data sharing frameworks
  • Experience in conducting audits, compliance checks, or risk assessments
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g. PDPA) and governance frameworks
