About the Role:

We are seeking a Cloud System Engineer to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical on-premises infrastructure supporting government systems. This role offers hands-on exposure to enterprise platforms, automation, and modern operational practices, while contributing to infrastructure modernisation initiatives.

Employment Type: Contract

Salary package: $8500 (basic) + AWS

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain compute, storage, virtualisation, and supporting systems across dev, staging, and production environments.
Manage virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), including capacity planning, optimisation, and lifecycle management.
Implement automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern operational practices.
Deploy and maintain monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
Execute patching, upgrades, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
Provide L2/L3 support, including incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Support containerisation and orchestration platforms where applicable.
Enforce security controls, access management, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with application teams to ensure platform performance, stability, and scalability.
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs, and support knowledge sharing within the team.
Maintain backup, DR, and high-availability solutions for critical platform components

Requirement:

4+ years of relevant working experience
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concept and automation tools
Background as a System Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer (hands-on infrastructure operations)
Experience planning and executing patching and upgrade strategies to ensure system security and stability
