Job Description



  1. Roles and Responsibilities:

IT Support Analyst Unix/Oracle with Bilingual skillset (English and Japanese)

  • serve as an IT Support Analyst for the Business application support in Investment Bank
  • Interact and Interface with other financial Institutions for supporting trade settlement.
  • face off to colleagues in Operations, Development, Infrastructure staff as well as 3rd party support vendor and work to forge solid relationships with these teams
  • challenge the status quo and work to improve the support model used by the regional / global support teams
  • provide incident, problem and event management according to ITIL standards
  • participate in releases, automation initiatives, Disaster Recovery testing
  • gain specialist knowledge in the applications that are being supported

Business Skills

  • At least 2 years with an Investment Bank or financial institution working for a Level 1/2 support team
  • Understanding of investment banking

Technical Skills

  • Good Linux / Unix skills, Shell scripting experience and understand Autosys,MQ/EMS and Web (websphere, tomcat) technologies
  • Experience in databases especially Sybase or Oracle with respect to writing/reading SQL
  • Understanding of ITIL Concepts

Process and Soft Skills

Bilingual Requirements: Native level Japanese, good English skills as need to engage with Japanese stakeholders & due to business requirement.

  • a natural ability to solve complex issues and coming up with innovative solutions
  • Good communication skills
  • a continuous improvement mindset with proven success in this area
  • a good understanding of the ITIL Service Framework (incident, problem, release and event management)
